Education is the initial step and a road-map toward women's empowerment. One woman influences the whole family's approach and is in the direction of more enlightenment if a woman is educated. This leads to a country's high literacy rates and much more benefits. It expands women's access to resources and opportunities, and in this way, they achieve more abilities and achievements.
Furthermore, education can demolish conventional gender norms and stereotypes, supporting women's empowerment. Girls and women get access to education, raise their understanding of their rights and possibilities, confront discriminatory attitudes, and advance gender equality, further accelerating empowerment.
Many challenges and factors women face which prohibit them from getting an education. These are;
Gender stereotypes and discrimination
Gender stereotypes exist in fields like science, engineering, technology, and mathematics, and women may be deterred from pursuing these areas. Additionally, discrimination may result from insufficient facilities and resources, lower enrolment rates, and unfair treatment in the classroom.
Socioeconomic barriers
Financial difficulties, lack of transportation, and cultural perceptions are other factors that women from low-income families and marginalized groups may encounter when trying to obtain an education.
Violence and safety concerns
In addition to being subjected to violence, women may feel uncomfortable in and around an educational institution, which may discourage them from attending and limit their ability to learn and participate in activities.
Lack of role models
Women may need more mentors and role models in their surroundings. Educational institutions hinder their capacity to see themselves as change-makers and leaders. Without strong female role models, women may have limited access to the knowledge and support they need to overcome obstacles and increase their self-efficacy.
Gender Discrimination
The problem of gender discrimination has affected the pace of women's empowerment in many countries. Gender discrimination in all realms of action must be checked. Women must take an active part in decision-making. Then, they can get admiration and prominence.
Educational Factor
Education is the most sparkling factor of advancement and growth. It is the only significant tool for anticipating women's empowerment. It illuminates the possibilities for access to employment and making a livelihood, revitalizing economic empowerment for women.
Mass Media Transformation
The mass media plays a significant role in protecting and propagating associated issues with women, most specifically about enabling their husbands to behave toward their wives with honor and respect. The mass media plays a crucial role in repairing the attitude and way of conversation between husbands and other family members toward women.
Changes in Women's attitudes
Women should empower themselves by becoming aware of their oppression, indicating initiative, and confiscating chances to shift their status. Empowerment must come from within the soul. Women need to empower themselves by bringing a significant change in their attitude. Women must know that opportunities will not reach their laps. They would have to determine ways to create them. They should fight back to rebuild their prominent position in society. They must strive hard to carry out their rights and maintain justice & equality in society. They need to work vigorously for the entire elimination of poverty, dowry-ills, illiteracy, and more.
Organization for Awareness Programme
Different programs of women's empowerment are in progress in almost all countries. Participating in and supporting those programs helps improve women's status, rights, and education. All efforts should be organized and under one umbrella. Then, these will be more effective.
